There has been some very impressive studies done to create a system for ferrying existing personal automobiles via a mass transit system. It is our intention that the Interstate Traveler will accommodate such designs for flat-bed cars that will ferry an existing wheeled vehicle to be driven onto flat bed car at the point of embarkation, and while in transit the passengers will remain in their car. Naturally, certain safety measure will be engineered into such a device.
The Interstate Traveler Active Floor Restraint (AFR) system enables the floor itself to adapt to the shape of the objects resting thereon which then raises and lowers small sections of the floor to restrain objects from any lateral movement. Further, the AFR creates a vertical wheel chock that is a planned ten inches in height, making it nearly impossible for a car to be driven around or accidentally set in neutral while the Car Transport is away from the loading zone.
